Community Thanksgiving Meal
You Are Invited!
All are welcome to join us for a delicious home cooked holiday meal, musical entertainment, and meaningful conversation at La Puente’s annual open-house Community Thanksgiving Meal! Folks can come by for a sit down meal at 913 State Street anytime between 12:30pm-2:30pm on November 26th.
Last year we were incredibly honored that over 250 people chose to spend Thanksgiving Day with us. Plates were piled high with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, casseroles, and pies prepared and donated by members of our community. Most importantly, guests who would have otherwise spent the holiday alone expressed gratitude for being able to connect with neighbors and leave with a deeper sense of belonging.
No RSVP is needed to attend. So come and bring a friend, neighbor, or stranger!
Want to Help?
To create a meaningful experience for all attendees, we definitely rely on community support; those who are able to serve the day-of help provide a sit down dining experience for guests, whereas those who already have their own Thanksgiving plans often prepare an extra casserole and drop it off at the shelter to make sure our attendees enjoy a home cooked holiday meal!
If you would be willing to cover a volunteer shift or drop off a prepared side-dish, please contact Raylee at 719-587-3499 ext 302 or volcoor@lapuente.net by November 17th to sign up. Alternatively, you can fill out this INTEREST FORM here and we will be in touch!
Want to Donate?
Unable to volunteer or prepare a side-dish, but still want to be involved? Below you can find a way to financially support this event. This enables us to purchase turkeys and other non-food items such as plates and silverware!
