Thanksgiving Box Drive

Partner with the Food Bank Network to Share The Joy of Thanksgiving! 

The Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley is seeking donations for its annual Thanksgiving meal distribution. Every year, the Food Bank Network distributes around 800 Thanksgiving boxes to families across all six counties of the SLV. The boxes are filled with a whole frozen turkey, stuffing, canned pumpkin pie filling, a variety of canned goods, and fresh carrots, potatoes, onions, and recipe cards.

To pull off this huge endeavor, the Network relies on community generosity! It only costs $32.82 to sponsor a family! Donations can be mailed in to 802 State Ave in Alamosa or given online (using the form below) anytime between now and November 21st.

Over 1 in 5 individuals in the San Luis Valley rely on food assistance, due to the high rates of poverty, rising cost of food, limitations of fixed income, reduced social services, and stretching dollars across a large household size, amongst other reasons. Annually the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley serves 12,000 locals, many of whom are seniors or children, to make sure low income households are able to stock their pantries with nourishing, nutritious food! To ensure local families can celebrate and connect with others over a Thanksgiving meal, the Food Bank Network increases its efforts during the holidays.
